At UG3DS, Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) is an advanced metal 3D printing technology that combines precision laser systems with high-performance metal powders to produce strong, fully functional components. This additive manufacturing process enables the creation of complex metal parts without the limitations of traditional casting or machining methods.

During the DMLS process, a thin layer of fine metal powder is evenly spread across the build platform and maintained at an optimal temperature. A high-powered laser then selectively fuses the powder according to the digital design, forming each cross-section layer by layer. Once a layer is completed, a new layer of powder is applied, and the process continues until the entire part is built. After printing, the build chamber is allowed to cool, excess powder is carefully removed and recycled, and the finished metal component is revealed—delivering precise, durable, and high-performance results suitable for demanding industrial applications.
